NON- CLINICAL PROMOTING IMMUNISATION TRAINING
There is now a greater recognition that Health Care Assistants and Administrative staff can be a valuable addition to teams delivering the vaccination programmes, given the necessity to deliver very large numbers of adult flu vaccine in a short time period every year.
This is a half day theory session for staff involved in providing general advice to the public, who may be asked for advice on immunisation or on where to access information.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES include;
- Provide accurate and up to date information about the relevant diseases and vaccines to patients.
- Demonstrate competence in recording of influenza, shingles and/ or pneumococcal vaccinations.
- Demonstrate understanding of their role around vaccinations and limitations
- Understand the process for referral where further information is required for patient needs.
