Multi-Professional Learning Event on Adolescent Mental Health
Self-harm, suicidality and low mood– what do we know and what can we do?
Rates of self-harm, suicidality and low mood appear to be increasing and such difficulties impact upon the way young people and their families function. Community services are often the first point of contact for young people, so increased awareness of their difficulties and how to help is key.
Three things we’ll cover:
- How do young people present with self-harm, suicidality and low mood, and why?
- How can we identify what kind of help is needed and how urgently?
- What can local services offer?
Target audience:
GPs, practice nurses, physician associates working within primary care. Psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses and all mental health professionals.
